Meljenstin Youth Empowerment Initiative (NGO) has organised the 8th edition of the 2024 “Say No to Drug Addiction” Youth Conference with the theme ‘Evidence is clear; invest in prevention.’
Ambassador Chibuzo Patrick Osigwe convened a conference in Festac Town, Lagos, emphasising the importance of students as the future nation’s glory and urging against drug-related changes. The head of the NGO, Osigwe, advocates for a peaceful society, parental rest, and precautions in children’s incubation stages. NDLEA promotes a free drug society, emphasising individual efforts and the importance of saving lives in disguise.
Chief Superintendent of Narcotics, Stella Amechi noted that the discussion revolves around prevention and education for children, with this conference best to catch them young. Drugs are prevalent, and the NDLEA and NGO are working to address the issue. Parents should monitor their children’s activities.
CEO of Kring Clinic, Mrs. Ngozi Okonkwo, urged the government to provide financial support for Meljenstin and partner with counsellors to teach brand awareness and drug trends, aiming to promote a better society and enhance the environment for a free drug society in various schools in the state.
