The Role Models We Have in Nigeria’s public and Private Sectors by Saanu Michael

As a young Nigerian, I am proud to have role models who are making a positive impact in our country. These individuals hold esteemed positions in both the public and private sectors, including politics and civil service. My role models include Governor Godwin Emefiele, the Central Bank Governor of Nigeria, and Governor Yahaya Bello, one of the youngest governors in the country. I also admire Minister Betta Edu, who is a shining example of humanitarian service. Her dedication to helping others inspires me to follow in her footsteps and make a difference in the lives of Nigerians.

Additionally, I draw inspiration from Diezani Alison-Madueke, a trailblazer in leadership. I aspire to emulate her accomplishments and lead with similar excellence. My list of role models extends to the military, police, judiciary, and senate, including individuals like Festus Keyamo, Dino Melaye, and Nyesom Wike. These leaders have significant influence over their followers, and their impact is undeniable.

Rather than criticizing my choices, I suggest we examine the system that produces such leaders. Until we address the root causes, they will continue to inspire millions. I am not alone in looking up to them, and I believe it’s essential to recognize the influence they wield.
