Kano Pillars Team Involves Bus Crash
Kano Pillars Football Club confirmed on Tuesday that their team bus, transporting players to Plateau State for a Matchday 5 fixture in the inaugural U-19 Youth League against Plateau United, was involved in an accident.
The club shared the news via a series of tweets on their official X account, revealing that both the driver and several players suffered injuries in the incident.
This unfortunate event follows closely on the heels of the first team’s recent 1-1 draw with Kwara United in the NPFL, just three days prior.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce the Kano Pillars FC U-19 team bus was involved in a road accident earlier today while heading to the New Jos Stadium for their Matchday 5 fixture against Plateau United U-19,” the club tweeted.
They expressed their heartfelt thoughts and prayers for those affected and promised to provide updates as more information becomes available.
“Several players and the driver sustained injuries and have been promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention. Thankfully, no fatalities have been reported, and the medical team is closely monitoring the situation,” the statement concluded.
