Nigerian Navy Shuts Down Illegal Refineries in Delta State

The Nigerian Navy has reported that its Operation Delta Sanity troops have deactivated two illegal refining sites in Delta State, confiscating two refining ovens, two storage tanks, and several sacks of illegally refined diesel.

In a statement on its official Facebook page, the Navy announced, “On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) DELTA uncovered and deactivated two illegal refining sites in the Obodo Omani Community, Warri South-West LGA. This operation resulted in the seizure of two refining ovens, two storage tanks, numerous sacks of illegally refined AGO, and 13 dugout pits containing an undisclosed amount of stolen crude oil.

Furthermore, NNS DELTA personnel also discovered and dismantled another illegal refining site on Bennett Island, which contained two refining ovens, three storage tanks, and sacks of illegally refined AGO.
