Flamingos Win FIFA Fair Play Award at U-17 Women’s World Cup

Nigeria’s Flamingos were awarded the Fair Play accolade at the recently concluded FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in the Dominican Republic.

Under the guidance of coach Bankole Olowookere, the team was recognized for their exemplary conduct throughout the tournament, registering the fewest bookings among all participants.

Although the Flamingos were eliminated in the quarterfinals by the United States, suffering a 2-0 defeat, they had a strong showing in the group stage, winning all three of their matches.

North Korea emerged as the tournament champions, defeating Spain 4-3 in a penalty shootout in the final.
