Northern Youths Set Fire to Tinubu’s 2027 Billboard

A group of angry youths from Northern Nigeria has burned down a billboard promoting President Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign.

The motive behind this act remains unclear, but it may be related to recent grievances perceived by the youths. Earlier this week, the region experienced a significant public outcry over a prolonged power outage that lasted more than ten days, which was only resolved after widespread protest.

Additionally, Northern governors expressed their opposition to a tax reform bill that was passed by the House. During a recent NEC meeting, it was suggested that the bill be withdrawn, but President Tinubu rejected this request, advising the governors to voice their concerns at a public hearing.

Moreover, several Northern children were brought to court yesterday for their participation in the End Bad Governance protest in August, during which some state property was looted. Upon arrival, four of the children fainted from malnourishment and were given biscuits before the hearing. The court set their bail at N10 million, a sum that is unattainable for them.
