AGAIN! National Grid Collapses For Second Time In Three Days

By Fly Cable News

The national grid suffered another breakdown on Thursday, leaving Nigeria in widespread blackout. The collapse, which occurred around 11:28 a.m., marks the country’s second this week and the 10th this year, compounding an already troubling pattern of power instability.

The Independent System Operator, an autonomous unit under the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), reported a generation of 2,323 megawatts just before the incident, with output dropping to zero by noon. The TCN has yet to provide an explanation for this latest grid failure.

The Jos Electricity Distribution Company confirmed that the outage affecting its service areas stemmed from this national grid disruption, stating, “The power supply loss from the national grid occurred around 11:28 a.m. today, resulting in outages across all our feeders.” The company reassured customers that normal supply would resume as soon as the grid stabilizes.
