Dangote Refinery: IPMAN Reveals When Nigerians Can Expect New Fuel Pump Price

By Fly Cable News

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has announced that Nigerians will know the new fuel pump price by Wednesday at the latest.

This comes as IPMAN revealed that negotiations with Dangote Refinery over pricing strategies are still ongoing. According to the association, all other issues were resolved during a Monday meeting with the refinery, and Nigerians can expect to feel the effects of these changes in the coming days.

Yakubu Suleiman, National Assistant Secretary of IPMAN, made the announcement on Tuesday while speaking on Arise Television’s *Morning Show*.

The statement follows the association’s confirmation that an agreement had been reached with Dangote Refinery to begin direct product lifting. Suleiman emphasized that the primary focus of the discussions with Africa’s largest refinery was to ensure a reduction in fuel prices for Nigerians, acknowledging that the current high rates were a concern for IPMAN.

“We’ve had productive discussions regarding the direct lifting arrangement with Dangote Refinery,” Suleiman said. “We are ready to begin lifting directly from Dangote. The IPMAN President and Dangote had a very positive and fruitful conversation, and we have now established a strong working relationship with the refinery.”

Suleiman also assured that, following the successful meeting, all outstanding issues had been resolved, and Nigerians should soon see the benefits. “The focus has always been on achieving a lower petrol price,” he explained. “It concerns us that Nigerians are paying so much, and we’re working to change that.”

On the issue of pricing, Suleiman noted that discussions were still ongoing but expressed optimism that the matter would be finalized between Tuesday and Wednesday. “Once the pricing is finalized, our National President will make an official announcement to the public, informing Nigerians of the agreed price that will be applied at our retail outlets,” he said. “I can assure you it will be cheaper.”
