Dangote Refinery To Meet PETROAN for Direct Fuel Supply
By Fly Cable News
Dangote Refinery is scheduled to meet with officials from the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) to discuss direct petrol supply arrangements.
This follows a recent agreement between the refinery and the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) to bypass intermediaries in petrol transactions.
Joseph Obele, PETROAN’s Publicity Secretary, confirmed that Dangote Refinery had sent a meeting request to PETROAN President, Dr. Billy Harry. Dr. Harry has assembled a team of seven representatives to attend the proposed strategic meeting.
The goal of the meeting, according to Obele, is to ensure that consumers have access to affordable, high-quality fuel while adhering to industry regulations and best practices.
PETROAN expressed confidence that the collaboration would benefit all stakeholders, including the public, Dangote Refinery, and retail outlet owners.
PETROAN also commended Dangote Refinery for establishing a direct sales agreement with IPMAN, which removes the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) from the supply chain.
Additionally, PETROAN noted signs that petrol prices could decrease soon, thanks to improved supply chains and lower landing costs in Nigeria.
PETROAN reiterated the importance of ongoing strategic discussions to maintain efficiency in the sector and ensure harmony among stakeholders.
The association also emphasized that the ultimate beneficiaries of these developments would be the general public.
