Abia Govt Supports Widows of Fallen Security Personnel

By Fly Cable News

The Abia State government has reiterated its commitment to prioritizing the welfare of the families of security personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.

At a ceremony on Tuesday at the Government House in Umuahia, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Caleb Ajagba, handed over cheques to the widows, emphasizing that the funds are designated specifically to support the educational needs of their children.

Ajagba explained that this initiative was part of Governor Alex Otti’s promise to the bereaved families during his visit, where he assured them of the government’s ongoing support.

The Chief of Staff urged the children of the fallen security officers to honor the gesture by focusing on their education, noting that the government would support their schooling up to university level. He also added that the state government would continue to monitor the well-being of the families, ensuring that the widows are engaged in meaningful activities.

Mrs. Unamka Olachi, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for his generosity and assured that the funds would be used as intended for the children’s education.
