NNPC Achieves Gas Production Target of 7.4 Bscfd, Records 1.8mbpd Crude Output

By Fly Cable News

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited has surpassed its gas production target of 7.4 billion standard cubic feet per day (bscfd) ahead of schedule, with over 60% of this output now being commercialized.

Additionally, NNPC has reached a significant milestone in crude oil production, hitting 1.8 million barrels per day (mbpd), driven by the ongoing efforts to combat pipeline vandalism and crude theft.

These achievements highlight NNPC’s commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s gas sector, improving energy availability, and boosting economic growth through enhanced domestic supply and export capabilities.

Lawal Musa, NNPC’s Chief Production War Room Officer, disclosed these figures in a briefing in Abuja today. Musa credited the success to strong collaboration between NNPC leadership, key stakeholders, and security agencies, along with a clear mandate from President Bola Tinubu to ramp up crude oil production across the country.

Musa, who is also Senior Business Advisor to NNPC’s Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO), Malam Mele Kyari, emphasized that these milestones are key to the company’s overall strategy of improving Nigeria’s energy sector.
