The Untold Story of Sego’s Inauguration Speech.

Oko-oba, Agege, Lagos, the NURTW Secretariat Complex last Thursday on a standstill pomp filled with symbols of the union, white and green, as executive officers, stakeholders, members, prominent personalities, well-wishers, relatives, and families graced the long-awaited Inauguration of Alhaji Mustphan Adio Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, to swear in Lagos State NURTW Chairman.

Immediately the national representative, Vice President South East, NURTW, Chief Anthony Ewa, announced to move the motion to dissolve past executives to usher in a newly appointed state chairman, deputy chairman, trustees, ex-officio members, and other officials to be properly sworn in for the next four years.

With the list of 37 appointments, Sego has made a strong, significant move for a smooth run administration. He said I am pleased to present the list of executive members who will collaborate with me in steering the leadership and future direction of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State.

According to him, “As State Chairman, I am dedicated to maintaining an open-door policy and fostering an environment of inclusivity, transparency, and unity. My priority is the welfare of our members, the residents, and the commuters across Lagos State. I pledge to create a secure and progressive environment for all and to collaborate closely with the Lagos State government to ensure our goals align with the state’s vision for a better tomorrow.”

He noted further that our mission is to enhance the welfare and interests of all our members. We are dedicated to improving the experiences of commuters across the state, and as a cohesive team, we strive to create a more integrated and harmonious Lagos. Our collective efforts are focused on fostering growth, unity, and progress for everyone involved.

While emphasising the importance of unity among appointed members and encourages active participation from those not appointed. However urged for unity and commitment to the growth and progress of NURTW, fulfilling its mandate.

As I observe Sego’s leadership style, I am struck by his palpable confidence and tireless energy which he channels into his new role. His efficient and impeccable intelligent approach has set the wheels in motion for a transformative journey, as he takes charge of the Lagos NURTW with the determination to propel it forward.

Recognizing the potential of Lagos’s bustling road transport sector, he has carefully selected a team of skilled and influential individuals who are poised to make significant contributions. Sego’s deep understanding of the intricate workings of garage operations, akin to a master chess victory, informs his victory, informs his strategic choices in appointing key positions.

His heart and intentions are clearly dedicated to the task of reshaping and repositioning the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos state that every move aligns perfectly with the guiding principles of the organization’s constitution, thereby forging a path ahead for the collective benefit.
