Makinde Urges NSCDC to Intensify Efforts in Protecting Nigerians

By Fly Cable News

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has urged the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to increase efforts in safeguarding the lives and property of Nigerians.

Makinde made the appeal during a meeting with the Commandant-General of the NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, in Ibadan on Thursday. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting and collaborating with security agencies in the state.

The governor praised the NSCDC for its pivotal role in supporting the state’s security framework and noted that, despite the national security challenges, the NSCDC’s contributions have helped make Oyo State one of the safest in the country.

Makinde emphasized the need for the NSCDC to further strengthen its efforts in securing the lives of citizens nationwide. He also highlighted the Corps’ critical role in protecting the country’s oil assets.

Recognizing the challenges faced by security agencies, he expressed his appreciation for the NSCDC’s work, particularly in Oyo State, which benefits from the Corps’ involvement in Operation Burst.

He acknowledged that security issues remain a nationwide concern and reiterated the state government’s willingness to cooperate and collaborate with security forces to ensure the safety of the people.
