Ogun Police Confirm Suspected Assassination of Hotel Guest

The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed the suspected assassination of a man identified as Gideon Ebukwe, who was killed by armed assailants at Ok Winners Hotel in Igbosoro, Igode, Sagamu Local Government Area.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, said the incident was reported around 3:30 pm. According to Odutola, a group of five unidentified armed men attacked Ebukwe in his hotel room while the staff, mostly women, were locked in another area of the building.
The victim reportedly tried to escape by breaking through the ceiling, but was chased by the attackers, shot, and killed. His belongings were also stolen.
Upon receiving the report, the divisional police officer dispatched detectives to the scene. While no arrests have been made, the victim’s body was transported to the Jas Medical Mortuary in Ogijo.
Investigations are ongoing to determine whether the crime was linked to cult activity, and the case will be transferred to the Police Headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
