Babatunde Adeluola Appointed COO of Nigeria Rugby Football Federation
The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has appointed Babatunde Adeluola as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), reflecting the country’s commitment to professionalizing its sports sector.
This move aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and the National Sports Commission’s vision to adopt global best practices in sports administration.
Adeluola, a University of Ibadan graduate with a background in Economics, brings extensive leadership experience from the banking sector, having worked with institutions such as UBA, Ecobank, and Polaris Bank. Since 2022, he has transitioned into sports management, offering financial consultancy for international sporting events.
In his new role, Adeluola aims to build on Nigeria’s recent rugby successes, strengthen the sport’s structure, and enhance grassroots participation. He also plans to secure corporate sponsorships to further develop rugby in Nigeria.
The NRFF is confident that Adeluola’s expertise in financial systems and strategic planning will help position Nigeria as a leading force in African rugby. His appointment marks a key step in advancing Nigerian rugby’s professional growth and international recognition.
