Boxing champion Anthony Joshua kicked off the New Year with a visit to President Bola Tinubu in Lagos, presenting him with an autographed boxing glove—a symbol of perseverance and excellence.
President Tinubu, expressing admiration on his official X page, called Joshua “a true champion and worthy ambassador of Nigeria,” adding that his dedication continues to inspire millions.
2025 Goals
Joshua outlined his plans for the year, including a potential bout with Tyson Fury and a quest to become a three-time world heavyweight champion. Reflecting on his 2024 loss to Daniel Dubois, Joshua vowed to bounce back, stating, “Ups and downs happen, but I can’t stop now; I have to keep going until I reach my destination.”
Sports Ambassador Role
Before meeting Tinubu, Joshua was named a sports ambassador for Ogun State by Governor Dapo Abiodun, joining the legacy of Nigerian sports icons like Tobi Amusan and Segun Odegbami.
