New Kano Information Commissioner Assumes Office

Ibrahim Abdullahi Wayya has officially taken office as the Kano State Commissioner for Information.
The handover ceremony, held on Monday, was conducted by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Adamu Bala Muhammad. It was attended by ministry officials, heads of affiliated agencies, and a gathering of well-wishers, friends, and family.
In his inaugural address, Comrade Wayya pledged to work closely with journalists to ensure the accurate and effective communication of government policies and programs to the public.
“The media is vital in shaping public opinion, and I look forward to building a strong relationship with the press to promote transparent communication,” he said.
Wayya also emphasized a commitment to improving staff welfare, recognizing its importance in boosting morale and enhancing service delivery. He outlined plans to invest in staff capacity building through training and skills development.
“We aim to equip our team with the tools needed to perform their roles efficiently,” he added.
The new commissioner reiterated his dedication to supporting the state government by ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of its activities and policies. He also highlighted the role of Civil Society Organizations in promoting good governance and promised continued collaboration with them.
Permanent Secretary Adamu Bala Muhammad congratulated Wayya on his appointment and assured him of the Ministry staff’s full support in achieving effective service delivery.
