Court Remands Timileyin Ajayi in Lafia Prison Over Alleged Murder of NYSC Member

By Fly Cable News

A Nasarawa State High Court has ordered the remand of Timileyin Ajayi at a Lafia correctional facility for allegedly killing his 24-year-old girlfriend, Salome Enejo, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.

Ajayi, charged with culpable homicide, appeared before Justice Simon Aboki at the High Court of Justice, Lafia, on Monday.

The state counsel, Stanley Ifeanyi, informed the court that Ajayi committed the offence in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), which contravenes Section 221 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria and carries the death penalty.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge. Justice Aboki adjourned the case to March 17, 2025, for hearing, assuring that the case would receive expedited attention due to its serious and sensitive nature.
