Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reaffirmed his commitment, along with other members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to ensuring that the party’s reputation remains untarnished.
Speaking on Thursday during the PDP North-East Zonal Caucus meeting in Bauchi, Mohammed emphasized that party leaders in the zone had engaged with the reconciliation committee set up by the National Working Committee (NWC). He noted that the North-East remains one of the least divided zones within the party.
As the chairman of PDP governors, Mohammed highlighted the unity and focus within the zone, stressing that members are dedicated to strengthening the party and avoiding actions that could bring it into disrepute.
“We are implementing various projects and programs that directly align with the aspirations of our people,” he said. “Our loyalty remains with the zone and our respective party chapters, including those without a governor, and we will continue to uphold this commitment.”
Committee Chairman Olagunsoye Oyinlola reiterated the party’s readiness to tackle its internal challenges and reposition itself for a strong comeback in the 2027 elections.
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa also described the reconciliation efforts as timely, emphasizing that restoring the party’s leadership position requires unity and collective action. He urged aggrieved members to engage in dialogue to resolve disputes and move forward.
