The Oyo State Government has dismissed media reports circulating on Monday night claiming that the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has passed away.
In a statement to PUNCH Online, the state’s Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Wasiu Olatunbosun, firmly refuted the rumors, confirming that the revered monarch is alive and in good health.
Yes, the Olubadan is alive, hale and hearty. I spoke with one of his sons, Prince Olaseke Owolabi Olakulehin, who represented the family at the coronation committee,” Olatunbosun stated.
