LeBron James Becomes First NBA Player to Reach 50,000 Career Points

By Fly Cable News

LeBron James has made history as the first NBA player to score 50,000 career points, further extending his lead as the league’s all-time top scorer, AFP reports.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar entered Tuesday’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans with 49,999 points from both regular and postseason play. It took him just moments to surpass the milestone, sinking a 25-foot three-pointer off a pass from Luka Doncic, sending the Crypto.com Arena crowd into a frenzy.

James, 40, previously broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s long-standing regular-season record of 38,387 points in 2023. With his latest feat, he now leads Abdul-Jabbar’s total career points (44,149) by nearly 6,000 points.

NBA’s All-Time Scoring Leaders:
1️⃣ LeBron James – 50,000+ points
2️⃣ Kareem Abdul-Jabbar – 44,149 points
3️⃣ Karl Malone – 41,689 points
4️⃣ Kobe Bryant – 39,283 points

Among active players, Kevin Durant is the closest to James with just over 35,000 points, trailing by roughly 15,000 points.
