Army Eliminates Three Terrorists in Kaduna-Abuja Highway Ambush, Recovers Weapons

Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 1 Division, operating under Sector 4 of Operation Fasan Yamma, have successfully neutralized three terrorists in an ambush near Ngwagi Hill, Gwagwada Community, along the Kaduna-Abuja Highway in Chikun LGA, Kaduna State.
The well-coordinated operation, carried out on March 11, 2025, led to a gunfight that forced several other insurgents to flee with gunshot wounds.
According to a statement from 1 Division Kaduna, the troops acted on credible intelligence regarding the movement of violent extremists and insurgents (VEIs) in the area. A long-range fighting patrol was launched, and by 5:30 PM, an ambush was successfully executed, eliminating three armed criminals.

2 AK-47 rifles
8 AK-47 rifle magazines
374 rounds of 7.62mm x 39 special ammunition
88 rounds of 7.62mm x 54 NATO ammunition

The statement credited the success of the operation to high morale, combat efficiency, and intelligence collaboration.
Commending the troops, Major General Mayirenso Lander David Saraso, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation Fasan Yamma, praised their resilience and urged them to maintain their momentum in eliminating criminal elements in the region.
