The Senior Assistant on chieftaincy matters to the Lagos Island local government Chairman, Hon. Moshood Olawale Eletu, has lighted up a section of Ward B3, in Lagos Island powered with solar energy.
Eletu disclosed that the solar-powered street lights align with the ‘Project Light Up’ initiative, which aims to enhance social activities and reduce nefarious activities at nighttime.
This initiative is not the first time project but also to continue and improve the living standards of our people and restore hope at the grassroots level, he stated.
The street, which used to be in the dark at night, now wears a new look with solar power lights illuminating it from the Onikepo down to Ita-Pashi and Alaagba street, Lagos lsland.
Residents of ward B3 in Lagos Island now have brighter nights to look forward to and have seen the new look in the area. They welcomed the initiative, saying Light Up Our Street will reduce crime rates and nefarious behaviour while thanking the solar-powered street lights by Hon. Eletu.
The #DoingGood Hon. Moshood Olawale Eletu recently also provided social welfare packages to wards in the community and distributed token cash to the people.
