MOFI Real Estate Fund Secures N100bn from Private Investors

By Fly Cable News

The MOFI Real Estate Investment Fund (MREIF) has successfully raised N100 billion from private investors in its fully subscribed Series 2 issuance, marking a significant step in mobilizing private sector capital for Nigeria’s housing sector.

Part of a N250 billion pilot fundraising initiative, the fund aims to bridge the country’s housing finance gap. Unlike the N150 billion Series 1 issuance, which was solely backed by MOFI, the latest round attracted strong institutional investor participation, reflecting confidence in the fund’s structure and long-term potential.

Minister of Finance Wale Edun highlighted the initiative as a transformative step for Nigeria’s housing sector, emphasizing its role in unlocking private capital for affordable homeownership.

With MREIF’s N1 trillion multi-tranche programme underway, the next phase will focus on expanding private sector participation and accelerating large-scale housing development.
