The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap, has cautioned personnel against compromising national security through corrupt and unethical conduct.
She warned that any officer found engaging in corrupt practices or activities that threaten the nation’s security would face severe consequences, including legal action.
Nandap issued the warning on Thursday at the NIS headquarters in Abuja while inaugurating a two-day nationwide sensitization campaign on digitalization and consolidated innovations to enhance service delivery.
According to her, the NIS has implemented comprehensive reforms in passport application processes, deployed advanced technology, and introduced e-gates to promote transparency and accountability.
She further disclosed that the Service has also introduced body cameras at airports and other entry and exit points to strengthen operations, enhance documentation, and boost national security.
