10 Reasons Bayo Adelabu is a Disaster Waiting to Happen to Oyo State
1. A Man Who Cannot Show Mercy to His Own Mother Can Never Show Mercy to Others
If anyone is still expecting generosity from Bayo Adelabu, they should first look at the woman who brought him into this world. The conditions she lives in speak louder than any political slogan. If he cannot care for his own mother, what hope is there for the people of Oyo State? What kind of a billionaire son lets his mother jump from bike to tricycle?
2. A Serial Salary Delayer—A Glimpse of What’s to Come for Civil Servants
Imagine running a multimillion business yet making workers wait until the middle of the following months before receiving their salaries. If this is how he treats his own employees, how will Oyo State workers fare under his leadership? If his workers who eat under him could be praying against his ambition, imagine the danger they have seen ahead.
3. He Treats His Political Associates with Contempt—What Happens When He No Longer Needs Them?
A man who disrespects and disregards those who stand by him today will be ruthless once he assumes power. If you think he is difficult now, wait until he holds the fate of millions in his hands.
4. His Ego is Bigger Than His Ambition—Even Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Was Shocked
In 2019, Asiwaju personally intervened to reconcile Bayo Adelabu with key Oyo APC leaders under the umbrella of Unity Forum. Instead of showing gratitude, he looked them in the face and dismissed the reconciliation effort. If he could openly defy the man who paved the way for him, who will be safe under his rule?
5. He Invests in Political Thuggery Instead of His People—A Security Disaster in the Making
Bayo Adelabu prefers to spend money on thugs rather than empower party members or hardworking indigenes. If elected, Oyo State will become a breeding ground for insecurity because he believes in controlling power through intimidation.
6. He Allegedly Bought His Ministerial Seat and Now Thinks He Owes Oyo State Nothing
Let’s be clear—the news filtering around from the villa was that Bayo Adelabu became a minister through backdoor deals in Lagos—Sanwo-Olu, not through the goodwill of Oyo people or his antecedents. If he couldn’t even get a ministerial seat through hard work and goodwill, what do you think will happen if he gets the governorship ticket the same way? He will treat the state as a personal ATM for those who installed him.
7. 100 Days of Darkness at UCH—And The Minister of Power Is From The Same City!
The University College Hospital (UCH) spent over three months without electricity under his watch. His careless response and utterance led to massive protests, with medical students chanting “Adelabu Ole!” If this is his legacy as a minister in his own city of birth, imagine the damage he would do as governor. God forbid
8. Someone Who Had to Be Cautioned to Stop Smoking Indian Hemp Publicly As A Governorship Aspirant? Such Immorality Stinks!
Oyo State deserves role models, not reckless individuals. If Bayo Adelabu needed people to caution him about his public lifestyle, how can he be trusted to lead and inspire our youth? God forbid a bad influence as our governor.
9. His Plot Against Ajimobi
It is no secret that Bayo Adelabu did not have the best of intentions towards his political mentor, the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi. If he won the 2019 election, he loosely promised to ‘show’ Ajimobi. Leadership built on betrayal cannot stand. But unfortunately for him, a child who boasts that he will eat the head of a pigeon when he grows old may find that the head of the pigeon will not let him grow old.
10. He Has Nothing to Offer Oyo State—Only Empty Claims of Tinubu’s Support
Instead of presenting his vision to the people, Bayo Adelabu’s only campaign slogan is that he is Tinubu’s anointed candidate. However, Tinubu is a strategic leader—why would he risk losing Oyo, the Southwest State that gave him the largest winning vote in 2023, just to push a smelly bad product and an awaiting disaster like Bayo Adelabu to power in 2027?
Oyo State Must Get It Right This Time!
Oyo State cannot afford to move from a governor who has used our future to borrow money to enrich himself, family and friends to another governor who is a complete disaster. This is tantamount to moving from frying pan to fire, Oyo State deserves a leader with vision, competence, and a heart for the people. Bayo Adelabu is NOT that man.
Anywhere his name is mentioned, just reply with “God forbid”
This is just the beginning. Every 2027 aspirant in Oyo should get ready for scrutiny.
