LagRide drivers have announced plans to protest following threats by the platform’s management to involve the Lagos State Task Force in impounding their vehicles over alleged policy violations.

The dispute stems from CIG Motors’ recent takeover of LagRide’s operations and the launch of a new app, which drivers claim is flawed and forces them to remit earnings to the company. In response, many drivers have resorted to offline transactions, leading to accusations of sabotage.

The drivers, backed by AUATON, argue that the company’s policies are exploitative and have vowed to take their protest to the Lagos State Government secretariat in Alausa.
