Digital Education: Tetfund, NEITI Sign Memorandum Of Understanding On Data Sharing.
The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) and The Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance data sharing, promote revenue transparency, and improve education funding in Nigeria.
At the signing in Abuja, NEITI Executive Secretary, Dr. Orji Ogbonnaya Orji, described the partnership as a strategic alignment of mandates.
He revealed that TETFund received about ₦1.024 trillion in revenue between 2019 and 2023, with ₦571.01 billion in 2023 alone,the highest annual figure yet.
GALAXY TV reports that Dr. Orji emphasized the need to convert extractive revenues into human capital through quality education.
TETFund Executive Secretary, Arc. Sonny Echono, praised the initiative, noting it would enhance transparency, improve digital reporting, and boost revenue tracking, especially from complex operations.
He reaffirmed TETFund’s commitment to proper fund utilization for infrastructure, research, and innovation in public institutions.
Both agencies pledged to use the partnership to strengthen accountability and link resource earnings directly to national development through education
