LAHA Summons Ride Hailing Operators Over Operational Chalenges.

The Lagos State House of Assembly has summoned top ride-hailing companies—Uber, Bolt, Indrive, Rida, and LagRide to appear for a public hearing aimed at addressing growing tensions in the sector.

The Chairman of the Lagos Chapter of the Amalgamated Union of App-Based Transporters of Nigeria, Mr. Azeez Jaiyesimi, who made this known in a statement issued by the union’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Steven Iwindoye, in Lagos.

According to the statement, the public hearing is scheduled for today, 17th june 2025, in response to the petition by AUATON to the assembly.

Mr Jaiyesimi said that the hearing aims to address the growing unrest in the ride-hailing sector and create a framework for safer, fairer, and more accountable operations in the Nigerian gig economy.
