LASU Alumna, Ayoka Roqeebat Kazeem, Makes History As First Car Winner On “MASOYINBO”

Lagos State University proudly celebrates Ayọka Roqeebat Kazeem, a distinguished alumna, for emerging as the first-ever recipient of a brand-new car on the widely acclaimed Yoruba language game show, “Masoyinbo”.

Ayọka’s remarkable achievement is a testament to her intellectual acumen and deep mastery of the Yoruba language, an expertise rooted in her academic foundation at Lagos State University’s Department of Linguistics, African Languages and Communication Arts, Faculty of Arts. As an undergraduate, she served as Secretary of the Yoruba and Linguistics Students’ Association, where she was widely recognised for her brilliance, leadership, and passionate commitment to the promotion of indigenous language and culture.

Her feat on “Masoyinbo”, a culturally acclaimed programme that celebrates Yoruba heritage through language-based challenges, reflects not only personal excellence but also the university’s enduring legacy of producing graduates who lead with knowledge, confidence, and cultural pride.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, congratulates Ayọka Roqeebat, describing her as a shining ambassador of LASU whose success on the show underscores the value that LASU has ingrained in her.
