LNSA Commends Amuwo-Odofin Chairman for Donating Fully-Furnished Building to the Agency.

In a landmark gesture of support, the Executive Chairman of Amuwo-Odofin Local Government, Engr. Dr. Valentine Oluwaseyi Buraimoh, has built and handed over a fully-furnished Building complex to the Lagos State Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA)—a first in the history of the agency.

The Chairman of the Local Government said the building is the first of its kind within the Access 57, comprising of all Local Governments and Local Council Development Areas in Lagos State.

He said, “We know the function of living in peace and the Amuwo Odofin residents have been enjoying the services of the LNSC officers.”

He further said, “the LNSC office represents our unwavering commitment to safety and security, enabling our dedicated officers to better serve and protect our community. The presence of this institution will undoubtedly enhance our capacity to respond to the security needs of our citizens, fostering a secure and powerful environment for everyone.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the General Manager of LNSA Prince Dr. Ifalade Oyekan fisn expressed deep appreciation, noting that this is the first time a local government chairman has voluntarily taken such an initiative to support the agency’s work. “The chairman did this out of his own volition, and we are sincerely grateful,” he said.

The new Building structure is set to be integrated with the agency’s Situation Room at the headquarters, allowing for seamless coordination. The GM remarked that while security used to be more straightforward in the past, the current climate presents new challenges that demand collaboration and innovation.

He also highlighted the ongoing transformation of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) into a more community-policing-oriented force. “We have held several meetings aimed at repositioning the LNSC to function effectively as community police. Security now begins with the residents, and everyone has a role to play,” he stated.

Describing the donated Building as “the perfect, beautiful structure,” the GM reiterated the agency’s commitment to citizen-led intelligence. “We are using the eyes of Lagos residents to work. When they see something and say something, we will act accordingly,” he affirmed.

Reflecting on his own journey from the Lagos State Law Enforcement Training Institute (LETI) to his current role in the LNSA, the GM emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration. He also referenced ongoing partnerships with stakeholders across other states such as Gambia, Delta, and Kogi, aimed at strengthening community safety frameworks.

He concluded by calling on residents to actively support the agency. “Let’s do this work together. If you notice any suspicious activity or discrepancy in your area, kindly report to any LNSC officer near you.”

The General Manager formally appreciated Mr. Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his visionary leadership, while he thanked Engr. Dr. Buraimoh and his entire team for their selfless contribution and dedication to improving security infrastructures in the Local government.
