Ali Bukar Dalori Appointed As APC Acting National Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed Alhaji Ali Bukar Dalori as the new Acting National Chairman and Rt. Hon. Garba Datti Babawo as Deputy National Chairman North following the resignation of Abdullahi Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR on Friday, June 27, 2025.

Ganduje, who became APC National Chairman in August 2023, stepped down amid intense pressure from party stakeholders, particularly from the North Central zone, who demanded the chairmanship return to their region. His resignation was also linked to internal opposition over his leadership style and party dynamics.

Dalori, previously the APC Deputy National Chairman (North) and a respected political leader from Borno State, is seen as a unifying figure with extensive experience in party organization and leadership.

Dalori will serve as acting chairman until a substantive leader is elected at the APC national convention scheduled for December 2025. This leadership change is part of broader efforts to stabilize the party and strengthen unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.
