FLOOD: Lagos Govt Clears Drainage Blockages in Computer Village. The Lagos State Government has intensified efforts to tackle flooding in the state, with a major enforcement operation carried out today at Computer Village in Ikeja.Officials from the Drainage Enforcement and Compliance Unit of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources were deployed to the area to clear blocked drainage channels. The operation involved the removal of illegal stalls, makeshift structures, and other obstructions built directly on drainage alignments.According to the Ministry, the exercise was necessary due to rising concerns over recurrent flooding in the Ikeja axis, largely caused by unauthorized construction and indiscriminate waste disposal along drain paths.Authorities say such enforcement actions will be sustained, warning that individuals who violate drainage right-of-way laws will face the full weight of the law.The clearance is part of a broader state-wide campaign aimed at enhancing drainage flow and safeguarding communities during the ongoing rainy season.
