NDLEA Leads Anti-Drug Abuse Campaign in Lagos

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has staged a high-impact awareness campaign across key roads in Ikoyi and Victoria Island to mark the 2025 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

Organized by the NDLEA National Headquarters Annex in Ikoyi, the sensitisation walk aimed to address the rising tide of substance abuse, particularly among youth and other vulnerable populations.

Leading the campaign was Mrs. Archie-Abia Ogboba, Director of NDLEA Seaport Operations. The event attracted over 250 participants from a broad cross-section of security and law enforcement agencies, including the State Security Services (SSS), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nigeria Police Force, Central Investigation Department (CID) Alagbon, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), as well as non-governmental organizations and private sector representatives.

Highlights of the event included a vibrant placard walk, cultural dances, and songs performed in Nigeria’s major languages — Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, and Pidgin English — to connect with diverse communities.

Participants emphasized the need for stronger multi-sectoral collaboration to combat drug abuse and praised the NDLEA for its ongoing efforts to prioritize prevention and youth engagement across the country.
