EFCC Arrests 12 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Lagos

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, has arrested 12 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud during a sting operation conducted on Tuesday, July 7, 2025.

The operation took place in the Ajegunle-Apapa area of Lagos and was based on credible intelligence received by the Commission about the illicit cyber activities of the suspects.

According to EFCC officials, the arrests were made in line with efforts to combat the rising tide of cybercrime and computer-related offenses in Nigeria.

The suspects are currently in custody and will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

The EFCC urges the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious financial or internet-related activities to relevant authorities.
