Tinubu swears Tunji Disu in as 23rd IGP

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has officially sworn in Olatunji Disu as the substantive Inspector-General of Police (IGP). The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday, March 4.
The ceremony was witnessed by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume; National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu; Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Others present were the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam; FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike; and Head of Service, Mrs Esther Walson-Jack and other cabinet members.
Immediately after Disu’s swearing-in, President Tinubu also swore in newly appointed commissioners of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission and the Federal Civil Service Commission.
The Nigeria Police Council on Monday, March 2, endorsed Disu, after his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Disu takes over from his predecessor, Kayode Egbetokun.
