Edo Revenue Agency Boss Resigns, Replacement Announced

The Edo State Government has approved a minor re-assignment of key officials in the state’s revenue sector as part of efforts to strengthen and sustain its revenue drive.
In a government special announcement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor, the Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, approved the changes which take immediate effect.
According to the statement, the current Chairman of the Edo State Audit Service Commission, Mr. Odior John Osirenimhe, has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Edo State Internal Revenue Service (EIRS). He succeeds Hon. Otunba Oladele Bankole-Balogun, who resigned from the position to pursue his political aspiration in the forthcoming elections.
Following the development, Mr. Idiake Patrick Akhimien, an Executive Director in the Edo State Internal Revenue Service, has been re-assigned to the Edo State Audit Service Commission as its Chairman.
The government also announced the appointment of Mr. Victor Oamen Enemare to replace Akhimien at the Edo State Internal Revenue Service.
The Edo State Government said the changes were aimed at reinforcing the state’s revenue administration and ensuring continuity in its revenue generation efforts.
The re-assignments and appointment take effect immediately.
