Governor Soludo swear-in second term, pushes Igbo support for Tinubu ahead of 2027 elections.

The Governor of Anambra State,
Professor Chukwuma Soludo has officially begun his second term alongside his deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim as they taking the oath of office .
According to report by The Nation on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, the ceremony was conducted by the state’s Chief Judge, Onochie Anyachebelu, who administered the oaths of allegiance and office within minutes of each other late in the morning.
The event took place at the Alex Ekwueme Square, where the governor arrived in a convoy that included Vice President Kashim Shettima and former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, highlighting the significance of the occasion.
In his address, Soludo spoke to a diverse audience made up of members of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, opposition figures, and business leaders. He expressed a long-term aspiration to see his party gain national prominence, though he noted that such a development would take time.
He also urged the Igbo electorate to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections, emphasizing trust in his leadership and the impact of his administration on the region.
The governor declared that political contests in the state were now over and called on his former rivals to collaborate with his administration for the collective progress of Anambra.
However, during the recognition of dignitaries, he notably acknowledged the chairman of the state’s traditional rulers council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka, while omitting the Obi of Onitsha, Nnaemeka Achebe, who was present nearby.
In his remarks, Shettima praised Soludo’s leadership qualities, describing him as a principled and visionary leader. He added that the governor’s electoral victory reflected public confidence in what he termed the “Soludo Solution.”
He assured continued federal support and encouraged residents to back the administration’s vision of transforming Anambra into a major economic hub.
