The international friendly between Nigeria and Jordan ended in a 2–2 draw on Tuesday at the Mardan Sports Complex in Antalya, Turkey.
In a match that shifted momentum several times, the Super Eagles were forced to settle for a point after a late Jordan equalizer canceled out their first-half comeback.
Jordan took an early lead in the 17th minute when Mousa Al-Tamari found the back of the net with a clinical strike from a free kick.
Nigeria responded quickly, with Moses Simon drawing the sides level just eight minutes later. The Super Eagles then took control of the game shortly before halftime when defender Emmanuel Fernandez scored his first international goal in the 41st minute to make it 2–1.
The second half saw Nigeria dominate possession, but they were unable to extend their lead in the absence of injured star striker Victor Osimhen.
Jordan capitalized on a defensive lapse in the 77th minute as Mohammad Al Daoud struck the equalizer to stun the Nigerian side.
The match ended on a sour note for Nigeria when midfielder Alex Iwobi was sent off in stoppage time following a physical altercation on the pitch.
Despite the draw, Nigeria extends its unbeaten run to five matches under head coach Eric Chelle. This result follows the Super Eagles’ 2–1 victory over Iran earlier in the four-nation friendly tournament.
