In a recent interview shared by Arise News, political strategist Awan Hassan highlighted some of the achievements of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly in Kano State, as debates around governance and public welfare continue.
Speaking during the interview, Hassan pointed to targeted interventions aimed at easing the economic burden on vulnerable citizens.
According to him, “There is an ongoing social investment program in Kano, providing ₦25,000 monthly to the poorest of the poor. Cash is given every month.”
He explained that the initiative reflects the APC-led government’s commitment to social protection and poverty alleviation, especially at a time when many Nigerians are grappling with economic challenges. The program, he noted, is designed to directly support low-income households and improve their standard of living through consistent financial assistance.
Hassan further argued that such interventions demonstrate that the government is making deliberate efforts to cushion the effects of economic reforms.
He maintained that while criticisms persist, there are measurable policies being implemented to address the needs of ordinary citizens.
