Cross River State

Just a year ago, Cross River State’s lush and green landscapes were challenged by rising crime rate, deterring investors and unsettling residents.

Today, under the determined eyes of Governor Bassey Otu and with strong backing from the different security agencies, the state is on a mission to reclaim its peace and safety.

Under the governor’s leadership, the State has embarked on a comprehensive initiative to restore its famed clean and green environment to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.

Speaking with journalists at the Force Headquarters in Calabar, the state Commissioner of Police, CP Gyogon Grimah pledged ongoing synergy with other security agencies, to ensure that criminals have no safe havens within the state.

The State Security Adviser South, Patrick Odiong, outlined a grassroot strategy to combat crime, highlighting the importance of community involvement.

In addition to the security efforts, notable figures such as Bishop Emmah Isong, the National Publicity Secretary of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and Professor Hogan Itam, the Muri Munene of Efut Nation as well as the Paramount Ruler of Calabar South, praised Governor Otu’s accomplishments within his first year in office.

State Commissioner for Information, Erasmus Ekpang, reiterated the government’s dedication to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, ensuring that citizens benefited from the dividends of democracy and their tax contributions.

With these concerted efforts, Cross River State aims to enhance its security, infrastructure, and business climate thereby attracting more investors and improving the quality of life for its residents.
