Edo 2024: 9-yrs of APC govt has pauperized Nigerians – Felix Alari

Says PDP, Ighodalo offer a beacon of hope in this trying times

Ahead of the September 21 governorship election in Edo state, a former Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaint Commission, PCC, Barr.Felix Alari, has called on the citizens of the state to vote the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, which he said “priorities the welfare of state and its people.”

The former All Progressives Congress, APC Chieftain claimed that the ruling party at the centre has had its chance at the federal level, and its performance has been, to say the least, an abysmal failure and underwhelming.

He also said that nine years of APC government in Nigeria at the federal level has pauperised Nigerians.

Speaking in an interview with journalists on Thursday, Alari, who recently dumped APC due to what he claimed to be the “disorganised state of the party in Edo state” and “unprecedented hardship in the land”, noted that the PDP and it’s candidate Asue Ighodalo offered a beacon of hope in these trying times for the state.

He said with a track record of competent governance and a commitment to the well-being of Edo state, the PDP is the clear choice for the future of state.

While urging the Edo citizens to unite with a view to building a brighter future for people of the state, he said the forthcoming polls offers the opportunity to vote PDP in order to usher in a new era of prosperity and progress, alleging that “Edo state cannot be a fertile ground for APC’s failed governance.”

The PCC ex-boss said, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) has had its chance at the federal level, and its performance has been, to say the least, an abysmal failure and underwhelming.

“It is clear to all and sundry that 9 years of APC government in Nigeria at the federal level has pauperised Nigerians.
Today many Nigerians look back at the 16 years of PDP at the Federal level with great nostalgia and a strong wish that we could go back to those years.

“As Edo people goes to the pools we cannot afford to replicate the same disappointing outcome of the APC led government at the federal level by voting APC into power in the forthcoming election.

“The choice must be made of that party that prioritizes the welfare of our great state and its people.The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) offers a beacon of hope in these trying times. With a track record of competent governance and a commitment to the well-being of Edo state, the PDP is the clear choice for our state’s future.

“Edo state cannot be a fertile ground for APC’s to practice ,market and perpetuate its monumental failure as a party and government.

“Let us come together to build a brighter future for ourselves, our children, and generations yet unborn. On September 21st, let us vote PDP and usher in a new era of prosperity, progress, and happiness for Edo state”, Alari said.
