NATIONAL PROTEST: A RESULT OF PENT UP ANGER AND FRUSTRATION SAYS BISHOP CHIDI ANTHONY

A coalition of Nigerian citizens has announced plans to stage a nationwide protest from August 1st to August 10th, 2024, to express their deep-seated dissatisfaction with the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The protest, which will take place across major cities in Nigeria, aims to draw attention to the country’s pressing political and economic challenges. Nigerians are demanding better governance, improved economic opportunities, and an end to corruption.

Bishop Dr. Chidi Anthony, a respected clergyman and vocal advocate for good governance, has thrown his weight behind the protest. “Nigerians have the fundamental right to express their discontent through peaceful protest. We must hold our leaders accountable for their actions and inactions,” he said.

However, Bishop Chidi Anthony, the General Overseer of Kings In Christ Power Ministries Int’l further cautioned that the protest must remain peaceful and not be hijacked by hoodlums or individuals with ulterior motives. “We must ensure that our message is clear and our actions are peaceful. We will not tolerate any form of violence or destruction of property,” he emphasized.

The church hereby has a role to play in terms of sharpening the country. Some of the politicians that embeszzles the wealth of the nation are members of a church, some are pastor of a church. The problem we have in the churches today is that the so called pastors and bishops pasturing this politicians refuses to tell them the truth which is one of the reason why things get worst.Instead of preaching messages that would change them, they change the message to suit them.

Protest is a constitutional right of any citizens especially when things are not working right in a country. And protest is a culmination of growing frustration among Nigerians who feel that their leaders have failed to deliver on promises of improved living standards, economic growth, and good governance.
