FG Launches 150 Million-Litre Jet Fuel Depot to Enhance Aviation Sector

The Nigerian Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has inaugurated the Joint User Hydrant Installation 2 (JUHI-2), the largest airside jet fuel depot in Nigeria with a storage capacity of 150 million litres of Jet A1 fuel. This facility can supply airlines with a minimum of 150 million litres of aviation fuel monthly, representing 20% of the nation’s annual sales volume.

Keyamo highlighted the depot’s strategic location near local and international airports, which aims to reduce flight delays and cancellations caused by fuel shortages. The project, a collaboration among several companies, is expected to improve the reliability of jet fuel supply and support the aviation ecosystem in Nigeria. It features advanced technology for efficient operations and is poised to create job opportunities while boosting the local economy.
