NDDC Has Not Been Scrapped — Engr. Momoh
The Minister of the newly formed Ministry of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh, has clarified that the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) remains operational and has not been dissolved.
Engr. Momoh explained that the Ministry of Niger Delta Development has only undergone a renaming and now has expanded responsibilities under the newly established Ministry of Regional Development.
He stated, “I want to reassure the people of the Niger Delta that nothing has been taken away. The NDDC is still fully functional and is now part of the Ministry of Regional Development, along with other regional agencies. It’s simply a change in name.”
Momoh further urged the Niger Delta community not to worry about the renaming, emphasizing that all structures and activities related to the Niger Delta remain unchanged. He praised the expansion of the ministry’s scope, calling it a positive development.
