Adama Commends President Tinubu for Appointing Dikko as NSC Chairman
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been praised for appointing Mallam Shehu Dikko as Chairman of the newly established National Sports Commission (NSC). Idris Adama, Chief Operating Officer of World Sports City Limited and former Director of Marketing and Sponsorship at the Nigeria Football Federation, expressed his support in a statement on Friday.
Adama highlighted that the scrapping of the Ministry of Sports and Dikko’s appointment signal the President’s commitment to genuine reform in Nigeria’s sports sector. He noted, “Dikko’s appointment is timely and aligns with global best practices.”
Adama emphasized Dikko’s extensive knowledge of Nigerian sports and his expertise in marketing, expressing optimism for positive change. He also called for a private sector-driven approach to sports development, which he believes will enhance Nigeria’s sports industry and economy.
Currently, Adama is leading the development of a World Sports City in Abuja, aiming to make it Africa’s premier sports tourism destination with advanced facilities, including the continent’s first Formula 1 circuit.
