Customs Introduces New ICT System to Improve Operations

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), in partnership with Trade Modernization Project Limited (TMP), has announced the launch of a new Information Communication Technology (ICT) system designed to enhance operational efficiency and align with global customs standards.

At the Port Terminal Multiple Services Limited (PTML) in Lagos, Comptroller General of Customs Mr. Adewale Adeniyi referred to the introduction of the Unified Customs Management System, known as “B’Odogwu,” as a major advancement in the modernization of customs operations in Nigeria.

“I am pleased to be here for this assessment of the rollout of ‘B’Odogwu,’ our new Unified Customs Management System.

“This is indeed an important achievement and a significant milestone in our efforts to modernize Nigeria’s customs operations and align with global best practices.

“This initiative reflects the NCS Management’s policy direction since my appointment, emphasizing the need to build on past successes while boldly embracing innovative solutions to longstanding challenges.

“This policy is also in line with the strategic goals of President Bola Tinubu’s administration to make the NCS more effective and efficient for the benefit of all Nigerians.

“The successful implementation of this initiative has been supported by the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, who has facilitated several initiatives, including today’s launch of B’Odogwu, which exemplifies the NCS’s commitment to adopting advanced technology to enhance our customs processes and procedures,” Adeniyi stated.
