Zamfara Govt Pledges Support for Military Operations Against Bandits
The Zamfara State government has committed to fully supporting the ongoing efforts to combat banditry in the region, particularly along the Gusau–Funtua highway.
During a press conference at the Government House in Gusau, Deputy Governor Mani Mumuni, representing the Governor, highlighted the increasing danger in the area due to frequent bandit attacks. He urged the military to find effective solutions, noting that travelers now feel unsafe using the highway.
“Many businesspeople typically travel to Kaduna and Kano to buy their goods, but they can no longer do so because of the fear of attack, kidnapping, or even worse,” he stated.
In response, Military Commander AI Ajose reassured the state government that all necessary measures would be taken to ensure the safety of travelers on the Gusau–Funtua road.
