The Lagos state chapter of the National Union of Road Transportation Workers (NURTW) has sworn in Alhaji Mustphan Adekunle Sego as the union’s state chairman.

The swearing-in ceremony took place in Lagos on Thursday at the union’s state secretariat.

Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, was the sole candidate selected for the appointment, which took place at the union’s zonal secretariat along Lagos State.

He thanked them for backing his position as the legitimate Chairman of Lagos State NURTW, vowing to serve the interests of union members and uphold the values of the organization.

The appointment marks a significant step in the leadership of Lagos NURTW, with Sego’s tenure expected to focus on strengthening the union’s operations across the state’s transportation network.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport, Hon Sola Giwa, ably represented by Engineer Ojoowuro Olasunkanmi said that the NURTW would help the state to realise her dreams in the transport sector.

He noted that the state could not do it alone, and that they needed the support of the NURTW as a government.

“You will help us achieve our agenda on transportation in Lagos State. When we talk about transportation, NURTW is very important.”

“I want to congratulate Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle Sego as the new chairman of the union and call all the members of the union to cooperate with him for tenure successful.”

The inauguration was witnessed by National body of the Union led by the Deputy National President, North Central of NURTW, Alhaji Musa Garba, state officials, traditional rulers, and others.

Speaking after the swearing-in, Sego thanked the Oba of Lagos, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, SA. Transportation, Hon. Sola Giwa Anthony Zulu, and all members of the union as the authentic Chairman of Lagos State NURTW.

The Deputy Chairman of the union, trustees, ex-officio members, and other officials were also Inaugurated.
