I’ll Join APC When I’m Ready, Not Afraid – Wike

Mr. Nyesom Wike, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and ally of President Bola Tinubu, has said that he would join the All Progressives Congress, the platform on which the president was elected, when he was ready to do so and that he was not afraid of dumping the PDP.

Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has been at daggers drawn with the PDP’s presidential candidate in the last general elections, Atiku Abubakar . He firmly opposed the candidacy of the former vice president and threw his weight behind the APC candidate Tinubu in the poll.

He has maintained that animosity since that time, criticising the party leaders including Bala Mohammed and having a hand in the political crisis rocking Rivers State.

He explained that he was bold enough to announce his disapproval of Atiku in the poll. He said he former vice president was not fair and that there’s no justice and equity in the party.

He said: “Now at my level, I came out in this country, and I said I was not going to support your presidency (Atiku’s presidency ) because, you’re not fair, there’s no justice, no equity as far as PDP was concerned .

“I didn’t hide it, I’m not like them, to come out in the day and say a different thing, I come out in the night I say a different thing, No.

” Nigerians know me, I’ll say something I’ll do, and I’ll do, what I will not do, I will not do.

“I came out and I said I was not going to support this, and I have no regrets about it.

“The President knows I never spoke with the President any day, and say look,” I’ll go to APC,I never told anybody that, and nobody should think that I’m afraid that if I want to join APC, I cannot join APC.”
